Avene cleanance gel cleanser review

Flo writes…

Hey girlies! Today I’m going to do a review on the Avene cleanance gel soapless cleanser as I’ve been using it regularly for the past couple of months and I’ve got through at least 3 bottles of it so, I can safely give you an accurate review!

This cleanser is designed for oily/blemish prone skin but I think it works very well for combination skin (which is what I have) and that it perhaps would not be potent or strong enough to treat chronic acne, but don’t quote me on that. It worked great for me and I really like it! Unlike most cleansers for combination skin it did not dry out my cheeks and chin area but it still successfully removed the excess oil from my t-zone and has helped to get rid of any blemishes.

The formula is a liquid-y gel but foams up when you apply it. I’ve been using a scrublet with it but it works fine with out, thats just what I prefer personally.

Oddly enough, it smells like soap even though it doesn’t contain any, but the smells not unpleasant.

I would defiantly recommend this cleanser as I think it works really well and its not too expensive (I don’t have the exact price but I think its around £10-12)

I would rate this 8/10

Tip- if your looking for a cleanser for combination skin check out the ingredients, look for stuff like salicylic and lactic acid (they help to remove dead skin and excess sebum on your skin without drying it out!).

What I’m loving this month

Hey guys, sorry its been so long! But today I thought I would let you know what products I have been loving this month, so lets get started-

  • Rimmel colour mousse eyeshadow in 005 Glitz- This is AMAZING! The colour is perfect for the day because it is almost the same shade as my skin but shimmery so you get a pretty natural look. It lasts along time too, when you apply it sets and after that it won’t fade or crease so for me this is a must buy.
  • Bobbi Brown Long-wear gel eyeliner in 1 Black Ink- we have said we love this product before and I am saying it again. This is the best gel eyeliner I have ever used and the colour range is fab (although I recommend getting black as it is a staple colour).
  • 17 mirror shine lipstick in Beehive- this is the perfect nude summer lipstick. Its mosturing like a gloss but has much more staying power. I would also say that if you were interested by the new glossy chanel lipsticks then this is a great dupe.
  • Revlon colourstay eyeliner in brown- one of the best eye pencils I have ever come across. Its super pigmented and glides on smoothly (it literally takes seconds to put on). I deffo recommend this to everyone.
  • Benefits Benetint and Posietint- In case you hadn’t noticed I LOVE stains and I have loads but these two are some of my favourites. The colours are pretty and fresh and they really do have staying power.
  • ELF mineral blusher in Rose- for £3.50 this is a real bargain as it is highly pigmented and applies like a luxury brands blush would. I really like the shade rose, which is a pretty pinky peach and perfect for a summery look.
  • Maybelline dream lumitouch highlighting concealer- this is a new product which I got after having a good experience with the liquid foundation version. This coverage of this concealer is great and it doesn’t crease or fade throughout the day. My only problem with this product is the brush that it comes with is very harsh and cheap so I prefer to put the concealer on the back of my hand and apply with a brush.

I hope that was interesting and I would love to know what you’ve been loving this month or even what your all time favourite products are, so put it in our ask box please!

Review: Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Ultimate wear Concealer

“Conceals Flaws and Blemishes for up to 16 hours. Transfer Resistant”

Willa writes…

Having heard so much hype about this concealer via the youtube gurus I had to try it out for myself! I’m always up for a good new concealer as it can be really hard to find one that ticks all the boxes! And this one did really well for me!

Before I start I have been using this to cover dark under-eye circles

First of all I will mention the good! Its has a super long staying power, It lasts about a day of wear. It will start to crease a little throughout the day, but nothing drastic, if your just run your finger under your eye it will smooth out the line. Its got a great consistency, not too runny making it easy to apply with your finger. Additionally its coverage is just right and gives a natural effect!

It comes in a tube with a doe-top applicator. Im not too keen on apply it directly to your face (unhygienic) but I roll a bit on the back of my hand and take it from there. To apply it I simply pat it in with my ring finger. Another thing I wasn’t too sure about was the tone, I got mine in Light no.2, but it seems a little pink toned when I prefer more yellow tones to bases. But this didn’t bother me much when it was on.

Overall I really like this concealer and will be wearing it on a regular basis. Its comparable to Mac pro-long wear concealer but I prefer the packaging and consistency of the Collection 2000. Its only £4 and fully worth a go! It available in Boots and Superdrug.

Rating: 4.5/5

Would I re-purchase? : Yes!

Hey guys! I am going to do three reviews on products from Soap and Glory. I am quite a big fan of this brand, I love that they use cute packaging and that all their products smell great. So lets get started….

Clear Here (T-zone oil control daily facial moisture lotion)- I am really not impressed at all with this product. I have combination skin and get break-outs on my forehead and this product claimed to help get rid of spots and control oil production. I can confirm that it does none of these things for me, in fact it makes my T-zone more oily and has not got rid of any of my blemishes, it also dried out my cheeks and made them flaky and red. I will not be re-buying this product and would give it a 2/10.

Glow lotion (a drop-dead gorgeous highlighting glimmer lotion for the body)- I love love love this product! It has a gorgeous smell of strawberries, mandarin, vanilla and musk. It goes on very smoothly and really lights up your skin with a dewy glow. It is really good on pale and lightly tanned skins but may look a little harsh on deep skin tones. It has a good amount of shimmer in it but I would not recommend it as a moisturiser simply because having shimmer all over makes you look bigger because all the light reflective particals will catch the light. But I think this product is FAB and would highly recommend it and so I am going to give it 10/10

Mist you madly (a flirty floral fragrant body spray)- I think that this is a nice product. It smells of bergamot, blackcurrant, magnolia, freesia, vanilla and musk. This creates a nice mix that is not too heavy. I personally do not wear it on myself but I use it as a room spray. It comes in a 250ml bottle which I personally think is too big but I am not addicted to the smell. I think that it is nice but it is just not my personal taste. Therefore I would give this product a 6/10.

So I hope that was helpful and will guide you in the right direction when you are shopping for products! Until next time!

A Quick Body Shop mineral foundation review..!

At the moment we have both really been into mineral foundations! They apparently have great benefits for your skin and can help improve the texture and appearance of it!

So I went ahead and decided to give the body shop one a try! The color was perfect for me when I bought it (summer) although now its a tad too tanned but still wearable. It is very sheer though, so if you want something with more coverage don’t get this. It says the coverage is build able but the highest coverage you can get is maybe a medium. It has a slight shimmer to it, so its not matte but it does give a matte finish which I like.

Would I buy this again? Probably not, for the price £15 I don’t think its worth it (although I did get a free brush worth £15) and the coverage is too sheer. Next time I am defiantly going to try Bare Minerals for a mineral foundation as I hear its really good!

Sally Hansen INSTA-GRIP base and top coat!

Recently I have only been using the Sally Hansen INSTA-GRIP base and top coat and I am absolutely loving them and needed to share them with you..

Usually my nails chip within 24-48 hours of painting them! But not with these magic products! As you can see in the last photo, there is barely a noticeable chip and that was after five days! Very impressive~

The bast coat is ‘fast dry’ and really does what it says! It grips to your nail polish you apply over it and makes it last clearly longer than usual! Its around £6 from Boots! The top coat is ‘anti-chip’ and really completes the manicure, its also gives it a high shine finish, it is too around £6 from Boots. I have tried many other high-end bases and topcoats but they just don’t compare and don’t seem to work for me!

My nails are really weak and chip so often normally, I was so surprised when I tried these out, I am still now waiting for my first chip five days later!

TIP : If buying both of these is too much of a risk, I advise trying the base coat first and using your usual top coat with it..

Give these a go a tell us what you think??

Elf Mineral Blush and Lipstick review~

  • Lipstick in seductive
  • Blush in Joy

These two products are new to me from Elf, the lipstick is new to the line although the Mineral blush has been there for a while but I just never got round to trying it! I had done a bit of research into choosing the right colors and I was really pleased with my choices.

I had never tried the new elf lipstick before, as it just came out, but I had tried the Mineral lipsticks which I love so I thought I should give the normal line lipsticks a try. I am happy I did because I really like them! They are very pigmented, as you can tell by the swatch above, the are moisturizing and glide on smoothly, they aren’t chalky at all! And last surprisingly long on the lips which is a plus however I generally don’t mind re-applying lipsticks often. Defiantly worth at try at £1.50~ They have a whole range of colors, and I think they will become part of the permanent elf line! yay

I have wanted a mineral blush for ages now and as I was ordering off elf the other day I thought why not consider getting an elf one! Joy is a gorgeous pale peachy pink which can give a flushed bright look to the cheeks! The color is totally build-able though not much is needed. I have been using this ever since I received it and am really enjoying it. Its only £3.50 and is permanent to the Mineral Line.

Have you tried any of these Products? What are your views?
