At the moment I’m in love with gold glitter nail polish! So I’ve layered a coat of essence colour and go in 67 make it golden over Chanel’s lilac sky. And on one of my fingers I’m wearing one of the Sally Hansen real nail polish strips in 260 glitz blitz!

Having trouble storing your nail polishes? Try this idea, me and Willa both do it! Get a vintage cake-stand and arrange your polishes on it! I’ve colour co-ordinated mine, which makes it easier to find colours. I keep my nail tools, e.g. nail clipper, base and top coats, in a separate pouch in a jewellery box next to it!
I love this storage, but do you think you have a better idea? Let me know!

Heya! This is a super cute nail art design that I did yesterday for fun! Its super super easy and you don’t need any special tools to do it so I thought I would share how I did it. Really instructions aren’t necessary, just copy the picture, but if anyones interested in what colours I used ect. then read on!
- First prep your nails for polish, check out our post on mani’s here. For my base coat I used OPI’s save the nail.
- Next I did two coats of Chanel’s lilac sky 210 which is a FAB lilac purple colour with a little shimmer in it.
- Wait for that to dry and then you can start on your cute little pandas!
- The first step to creating the panda is to swipe a white polish over the end of your nail in a half moon shape. I used ELF’s polish in white which is fairly sheer so I had to do two coats of it.
- I waited for that to dry and then used a black polish to dot on the ears, eyes and nose of the panda. The key to this is to wipe most of the polish off the brush so you have more control. The black I used was 17’s fast finish polish in nightshade.
- Wait for a while until your nails are completely dry (otherwise the panda will smear!) and then apply your top coat. I used Sally Hansen’s Insta-dri anti-chip top coat.
What do you guys think? Would you try this? I only used it on my thumb nails to stop it looking too over the top, but you can easily do it all of your fingers!

When picking the perfect toe nail polish for your holiday consider using a glitter top coat! The fragments of glitter will make it harder and more resistant to chipping, therefor extending the life of your pedi!

Tips for a Salon-Worthy Manicure!

Q: How do you do a manicure that looks salon-worthy? I always end up looking stupid when I do my nails. -sen

A: I love doing my nails myself! So here are some of my Top-Tips to a long lasting manicure!
Prep:
- Soak your nails in hot lemon water, not only does this get rid of any yellowness or staining on the nail bed but it will also soften the cuticles!
- Now your cuticles are soft massage a little bit of nail oil into them and push them down using a cuticle stick.
- Clip your nails and buff them lightly to get rid of any rigidness.
- Grab a Q-tip and dip it in some nail polish remover. Gently coat your nail with remover so you have a clean base to start your manicure.
Prime:
- Start with an adhesive base coat. Something that grips, try Sally-Hansen Insta-grip (Check out my Review on it) or China glaze Adhesive base coat.
- Wait a few minutes then go in with your colour and apply one coat.
- On your second coat use my tip Sneaky Tip for a Long Lasting Manicure.
- Then apply a High Shine/quick drying topcoat. Again nothing beats Sally Hansen Insta-Dri.
- Then to boost shine and lower drying time rinse your nails under icy cold water!
Hope this Helps Sen! xx Qs? makeupwrites.tumblr.com/ask
Willa Writes… Some of you may be familiar with this, Its one of our earliest posts, but its super cute so I decided to re-post it!
Lauren Conrad style Leopard print nails.
This is a REALLY simple nail tutorial on Leopard Nails, No tools are needed just three nail colours of your choice.
For the Base I went for a bubblegum pink, For the leopard print I did white and black (Will list all products used at end)
So Lets get started!
- Step one : Paint all your nails one solid base color (this color will go under the leopard print). I would advise using a matte color and if your doing a white and black leopard print don’t make the base color too LIGHT (pale)! Let it dry and repeat if necessary.
- Step two: Blob on some random white spots using a matte white nail color. To make my blobs nice and small I cut the brush a bit so it is thinner (has less hairs and I cut it vertically) and therefore gives you a more defined shape. They don’t all have to be circular, most shapes will do.
- Step three: Get your black nail polish, but try and choose a nail polish with a reasonably a flat brush, but any brush will do. Get a good amount of varnish on the brush but wipe off the excess on the edge of the nail polish bottle opening, so you should have a relatively dry brush to work with. And start defining the white blobs by gently patting the black around the white in funny shapes. It does NOT have to be perfect.
And Taadaa, you will have HOT looking leopard Nails in no time, with no fiddly tools needed! Hope you enjoyed it! xx
TIP: Wait a while to apply a topcoat, as otherwise the black print will streak across nail! Haha just experienced that now!
Nailpolishes of my choice: Black~ Rimmel Lasting Finish in Black Cab, White~ Barry M in 66, Pink~Sally hansen Diamond shine in Mille-fleurs.
Check out Lauren Conrad’s Version

TIP: Paint your toe-nails in a yellow this spring/summer! It makes you look super tanned and makes you feel summery!
