DIY poka-dot pedi!

Flo writes… sorry I’ve been so MIA recently! But I’m back and I will get round to answering your questions very soon, so sorry if you’ve been waiting long for an answer! But today I’m going to show you this cute DIY pedi design (which works equally well for a mani in case you were wondering!). Its super simple to do and only requires one other polish and a thin tipped paint brush (although you can still use the brush from the polish I prefer a thinner point to get smaller dots). So lets get started!

  1. Apply a base coat to protect your nails from yellowing and damage from the polish you are going to apply. I used Rimmel london 60 second polish in 740 clear.
  2. Next apply two coats of any polish colour. I used a silver because I wanted to make it festive! My choice was LA colours nail lacquer in shade 22. Make sure that you leave at least 1 min between coats!
  3. Now pick the colour that you want to create the dots with! I think white and black work best but you can pick any colour you want, or even use multi colours! I used a thin tipped paint brush (which you can just clean with nail polish remover afterwards) and created lines of dots, which gives it a neater look. I used 17 fast finish nail polish in nightshade.
  4. Leave quite a while to allow the dots to dry before applying your top coat, otherwise the dots will smear and ruin all your hard work! I used sally hansen insta-dry anti chip top coat.

There how simple was that?! If you guys give it a try then I’d love to see a picture :)

Any questions? I’m going to be answering them all in the next few days! xxx

What I’m wearing on my nails!
I used two coats of Mac’s nail lacquer in Nightfall and layed a coat of L.A. colours colour craze nail polish in star light for the perfect night time glitter nail!
Personally I think these nail looks are nicer on short nails, otherwise it can look a little over powering.
Q’s? xx

Heya! This is a super cute nail art design that I did yesterday for fun! Its super super easy and you don’t need any special tools to do it so I thought I would share how I did it. Really instructions aren’t necessary, just copy the picture, but if anyones interested in what colours I used ect. then read on!

  • First prep your nails for polish, check out our post on mani’s here. For my base coat  I used OPI’s save the nail.
  • Next I did two coats of Chanel’s lilac sky 210 which is a FAB lilac purple colour with a little shimmer in it.
  • Wait for that to dry and then you can start on your cute little pandas!
  • The first step to creating the panda is to swipe a white polish over the end of your nail in a half moon shape. I used ELF’s polish in white which is fairly sheer so I had to do two coats of it.
  • I waited for that to dry and then used a black polish to dot on the ears, eyes and nose of the panda. The key to this is to wipe most of the polish off the brush so you have more control. The black I used was 17’s fast finish polish in nightshade.
  • Wait for a while until your nails are completely dry (otherwise the panda will smear!) and then apply your top coat. I used Sally Hansen’s Insta-dri anti-chip top coat.

What do you guys think? Would you try this? I only used it on my thumb nails to stop it looking too over the top, but you can easily do it all of your fingers!

When picking the perfect toe nail polish for your holiday consider using a glitter top coat! The fragments of glitter will make it harder and more resistant to chipping, therefor extending the life of your pedi!

At the moment I’m wearing a navy blue (front cover) with a glitter polish (LA colours in Star Light) on my nails. I love wearing glitter polishes just on one finger! Check out Willa’s post on how to wear glitter polish subtly by clicking on the photo!

Hey girls! I thought that today I would give you the low down of this springs nail trends on the catwalks there were NO NUDE NAILS or METALLIC PRINT NAILS in sight, so I guess that trend is over, instead try-

  • super bright nails in colours like Pillar Box red (as seen at Gucci and Ungaro) or fluorescent peach (as seen at Roksanda Illincic)
  • or if your not such a fan of red or it doesn’t suit you then try a sea green colour (Bensoni New York) or copy Chanels new nail look with a black pearl polish
  • another trend that was big on the catwalks was nail art with crystals at Topshop, butterflies at Loewe, little faces on each nail at Giles, and leaves at Alexander McQueen

So there you have it ladies, these are the trends that you should be jumping onto this spring and summer! Will you be trying them out or are they too wacky? Let me know!!

A LOAD OF NAIL IDEAS!!

flo writes…

hey guys! So I am getting the feeling that you like nail tutorials right?? So here is your ultimate link for nail art! It includes loads of fun nail ideas which are easy to do, I have tried some of them and they look great!

this is the link:

Btw leopard print nails look great with purple as a base and gold to replace the white, it just makes it that little bit more glam!! They also look fab if you do the base matt with a matt topcoat (it will make the leopard print stand out even more!!).

hope that was helpful!

Hope you guys have a great week xxx
