Q&A

Q. hey guys u havent been updating alot can u do a update on ur skin care xxxxx rosie

A. Heya Rosie! Sorry about the lack of updating, we’ve both been so bogged down with work because we both just started sixth form and its so much more pressure! :( But of course I (Flo) will tell you an update on my skincare!

I haven’t changed that many of the products that I’ve been using but in general my routine is more about saving time at the moment!

In the AM-

  • When I wake up I use yes to tomatoes deep cleansing facial pad or boots essentials cucumber cleansing wipes to cleanse my face
  • Next I mosturise the dry parts of my face with Avene rich hydrating cream for normal to dry sensitive skin and then apply a spot treatment to my t-zone (been soooo stressed resently and for me stress= spots!)
  • I’m using the garnier tinted eye roll on as a concealer and eye cream in one! So good!

In the PM-

  • I remove my make up with the cleansing wipes and then wash my face using Avene cleanance gel soapless cleanser for oily, blemish-prone skin or the Neutrogina Visible clear spot stress control daily scrub.
  • After I apply the same mosturiser and spot treatment as eariler

If I have time at some point in the week I will try to use a clay mask on my t-zone to try and treat spots!

Sorry for the lack of posts, I’ll try to put some more up this weekend! Any suggests on what I should write about?!

BTW I do have another blog which I update more often so if you want to then it would be great if you followed!

Q. What foundation do you reccomend for acne prone skin?

A. Hey! We’ve done some posts on foundation routines for acne skin a while ago. You can check them out here and here! Hope that gives you some advice!

Q. How can i stay smelling good all the time and have really soft skin for my boyfriend?- Anne

A. Heya Anne! To keep your skin soft I recommend that you start by exfoliating your skin often with a scrub or loofa. You can check out some DIY recipes here. After your shower, whilst your skin is still damp, apply a body moisturiser or baby oil. To keep your skin soft use a moisturising shower gel daily.

And why not try using a body moisturiser that is infused with a nice smell? It will sink into your pores and be realised all day long so you continually smell great!

Q. Urgent girlies! My roots are growing and they are dark and my hair colour is now blonde how do i fade out the blonde colour or get rid of it in a natural way?? Help!!!!! - KHOLE

Tumblr_loa28me0hn1qawx2go1_500_large

A. Hey Khole! Unfortunately there is no way to get rid of perminant hair dye with out re-dying your hair. So, a natural way to fade out dyed hair, whilst still looking cute, is to get ombre hair! Get the mid section of your hair dyed an in-between shade and so whilst its growing out it will look like you tried!

Check out celebs like Lauren Conrad and Racial Bilson for cute dip-dyed hair!

Hope that helped! Any more q’s? Ask here!

Q. Easy at home ways to make my eyelashes grow?

A. Try rubbing lip balm, such as vasaline, into the roots of your lashes. This stimulates growth. Also try using more gentle eye makeup removers, such as oil based ones, as this will reduce eyelash fall out.

Q. How can i give myself a manicure? - Sarah x

A. Hey Sarah! Check out our home manicure post here!

Q. Whats the best smelling shower gel and body lotion?

A. Hey there! For the best smelling body lotions and shower gels I LOVE getting the one that matches my favourite perfume! It works great because the smells add onto each other. At the moment I am loving the DKNY apple perfumes. But, for a cheaper option I like pamlers coco butter products as they smell amazing, just like chocolate!

What are you guys favourite shower and body products?

Q. Whats a good inexpensive fake tan? -Betty

A. My fav fake tan at the moment is Johnson’s Holiday Skin body lotion. It is a gradual tanner so you will have to use it for a few days before your glow starts to form, but it gives even coverage which does not look orange! It also leaves your skin feeling super soft as a bonus! However it does smell kinda foul, but the smell does not linger on you for to long, so it was not really a problem for me. It costs about £7 from boots and you can buy it in fair to medium and medium to dark. It is also available in a face version.

Hope that was helpful! :) xxx

Q. Whats your favourite face mask and body scrub?-Amy

A. Hey Amy! My fav body scrub at the moment is Garnier Skin Naturals body tonic sugar scrub! I find it really good because the sugar in the scrub dissolves making sure that you are not too harsh on your skin and exfoliate it for too long. My fav face scrub is Simple Smoothing Facial Scrub. I like this product because it is gentle on my sensitive skin. The St. Ives apricot scrub is also a great body scrub!

As for face masks me and willa both like clay masks because they help to dry up oil and draw out impurities! We have already done a post on skin care routine which covers face masks: http://makeupwrites.tumblr.com/post/3071821920/combination-skin-care-routine

Hope that was helpful and answered your question! xxx

Q. Whats a cheap face and eye-shadow primer?Lucy

A. Hey there! The best (fairly) inexpensive primers that I have tried are the urban decay ones. Their eyeshadow primers well loved among beauty gurus on youtube and their de-slick in a tube is fab for oil control if you have combination skin! Another even cheaper primer that is suppose to be really effective is the elf studio primer, I have seen it recommended in many magazines and it is a must have product for our friend!

Does any one else have any suggestions for Lucy? Answer below xx

Dinner Date makeup <3

Q: I have a  dinner date on friday and I was wondering if u could do a post on first date make up?

Tumblr_lgs5uup8lc1qdgk4ro1_500_large

A: First use a makeup primer, you want your makeup to last all evening. Then apply a thin layer of a light creamy foundation. You want to make sure that you look like you have flawless skin naturally so don’t apply too much. Next use a concealer on your under eyes and any blemishes or imperfections you want to hide, at the moment I am loving Max factors master touch concealer. It has great coverage! Use a creamy blush on the apples of your cheeks in a pretty pink colour. You want to look like you are blushing! Using a cream product is a good idea because it will look much more natural than powder. Use a cream highlighter on your cheek bones, cupids bow and down the bridge of your nose. Set all of your face makeup with a pressed powder, make sure you don’t use too much!

Fill in your brows with a pencil or shadow softly. Set with clear brow gel. For eyes I would say use shimmery shadows in natural colours. The sleek storm pallet has great colours in the top part. If you are contorting use matte shadows as that will use more natural. Line your eyes with a cream eyeliner in a brown or navy colour. This is nicer than black because it is less harsh and we want to create a soft femenine look. Curl your lashes and apply mascara, if you want apply fake lashes but use individuals not strips.

Use lipbalm and a lip scrub so you get a soft and smooth pucker (you know why!!!). Use creamy lipstick in a colour of your choice, since your eyes are natural you can afford to use quite a bight colour. I would recommend a peach or pink as they are girly colours.

Hope that was helpful and have fun on your date, you should let use know how it goes!!!

How to get rid of spots Quickly!

Q: Can you give me some advice on what reduces spots and how to get rid of them as quickly and cheaply as possible? -Starry-girl

A: Its really hard to get rid of spots ASAP but here are some tips to fasten up the process:

  • Press a hot water cloth against the spot and leave on for about a minute to kill any bacteria and try and, if its a white-head, get all the horrible gunk out! This will fasten up the process of getting your spot to come out and its better than popping spots. To get rid of redness that will have occurred after this press an icecube against the area to cool down the swelling!
  • Apply some Tea-tree oil for anti-bacterial action or Sudocrem to dry the spot out.
  • Try not to touch it/pick it during the day! This will just infect it more..

Hope it helped! xx

Favourite Concealers

Q. What is your favourite concealer? -Babybringonthemoviestar

A. I am really into the bourjois healthy mix concealer, I also have the foundation. This is good for everyday because it offers light coverage so you still look natural. I also recommend adding a little of benefits highbeam to it for a light reflective concealer, which looks great in daylight just don’t do it when photos are being taken. For more heavy coverage I use ELF all over cover stick under my bourjois concealer for complete coverage!
